Rokstone wins MGA of the Year!

There were plenty of cheers and beers earlier this month at the prestigious British Insurance Awards, as we walked away with the award for MGA of the Year!

Hosted by Insurance Post at the Royal Albert Hall in London, the award is recognition for what has been an incredible year for us, which has included launching new Energy, Marine Cargo, and US Agriculture lines.

Our organic growth across all lines has seen us increase our gross written premium from $500m to $750m. Most importantly, all this growth has been achieved while maintaining an underwriting profit for our capacity providers.

At a time when MGAs are coming under more and more pressure from capacity providers to prove their value, we have doubled down on looking after their interests.

Aventum acquired Mulberry Risk, a specialist MGA data & analytics firm, to take our actuarial capability to new heights, and we have continued to hire underwriters with demonstrable experience of managing profitable portfolios to lead our new lines.

These actions helped us to cement long-term trusted relationships with our capacity providers, something in the interest of all our brokers and their clients.

The awards were judged by top industry participants, and this recognition reflects the highly respected status we now hold in the top tier of international MGAs.

Launching back in 2016, it’s taken us just six years to reach this landmark moment of being crowned the UK’s best MGA, and the even more exciting part is how much sits in the pipeline for the years ahead.

And we may not be done with the silverware, as we recently also made the shortlist for Insurance Insider’s annual awards ceremony, Insider Honours. After impressing the judges of the British Insurance Awards we’ll be hopeful of doing the double and scooping up the prize at the ceremony on 8 September.
